What this tool does
CourtWatch is a personal tool that checks NYC Parks tennis court availability and alerts you by email, and by text message (SMS) if you opt in, when a court opens up at your chosen location, date, and time.
Information we collect
When you create an account with an email and password, we collect your first and last name, your email address, a password (stored securely by our login provider โ we never see it), and, if you choose to provide it, your phone number. If you sign in with Google instead, see "Signing in with Google" below. We also store the monitors you create (park, date, times and courts). If you provide a phone number, we record that you agreed to receive text alerts and when.
Signing in with Google
You can also create an account or log in with your Google account. If you do, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to run your CourtWatch account โ for example, to greet you by name and to send your alert emails. We never see your Google password, and we don't access anything else in your Google account. Signing in with Google doesn't sign you up for text messages: accounts created with Google receive email alerts only.
Your phone number (optional)
If you provide a phone number when creating an account, it's used only to text you court-availability alerts when one of your monitors finds an open court. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help.
Your number is never sold, rented, or used for any other purpose. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Services that help run CourtWatch
We use a small number of service providers only to operate CourtWatch: Supabase (accounts and data storage), Netlify (website hosting), Resend (sending alert emails), Twilio (sending alert texts) and Google (optional sign-in). They process your information only to provide these services to us.
Alert frequency
Alerts are event-driven โ you'll only receive an email (and a text, if you opted in) when a court becomes available for something you're watching. A one-time monitor sends one alert and then pauses itself; a weekly repeating monitor sends at most one alert per week until you stop it or its end date passes. Frequency is irregular and depends on availability.
How to stop alerts
You can pause or delete any monitor from your account at any time โ future alerts for that monitor stop immediately. To stop text messages, reply STOP to any CourtWatch text.
Children
CourtWatch is not intended for anyone under 18 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and your data at any time from your account page: log in and choose “Delete my account.” This deletes your account, your name, email address and phone number, your text-message consent record, and all of your monitors. It can’t be undone.
