CourtWatch
Accessibility
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use CourtWatch, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. CourtWatch aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we've done
On October 25, 2026 we audited every page of this website, including the sign-up, log-in and monitor screens, with automated testing (axe-core) and hands-on checks, and fixed what we found. That included: text and form-field color contrast in light and dark mode; labels for every form field; announcing status and error messages to screen readers; full keyboard operation with a visible focus indicator; a “Skip to main content” link; headings and page landmarks; and not relying on color alone to show selections. The site also follows your device’s settings for dark mode, reduced motion, reduced transparency and increased contrast.
Known limitations
Some parts of the experience come from other services that we don’t control: the “Continue with Google” sign-in button is provided by Google, and court booking itself happens on the NYC Parks website. Alert emails and the small pages that open from links inside those emails haven’t yet been through the same audit. If any of these cause you a problem, please tell us and we’ll help.
Report a problem
If you run into an accessibility barrier on CourtWatch, or need information in a different format, please email us at nyccourtwatch@gmail.com. Let us know the page and what happened, and we’ll work to fix it.
